It’s pretty common to see moose and bears wander around in Seward, Alaska, but it’s rare to see a mountain goat. This is why the locals and tourists excitedly gathered around the goat to take a photo. While it seems innocent to take a photo of the rare sighting of the animal, it did not end well for the goat.

It was in Seward Small Boat Harbor where the goat was first sighted. The Alaska State Troopers started receiving calls around 6:30 pm that the goat was on the dike and was being chased by people. After 30 minutes, they received another call reporting that the animal is already in the ocean, swimming for its life. The troopers held an investigation and found that too many people followed the mountain goat and it led the goat to jump into the ocean near SeaLife Center. The animal wasn’t able to climb back because the crowd was standing on the rocks and taking photos. This led to the unfortunate drowning of the goat.

One witness commented on the site of Seward City News and said that the people chased and followed the goat for two hours and more. The goat, in an attempt to escape the crowd, jumped into the water. Another witness named Erin Kuester commented that there was a tourist couple that tried to tell the crowd to leave the goat alone but failed because they could not speak the local language fluently. Kuester also criticized the local authorities for not being as active as they should be in keeping the people away from the mountain goat. The Alaska State Troopers reminded the public that the animals must be given enough space to flee from a crowded place like Seward because it can result to the death of the animal like the unfortunate death of the mountain goat.

There was a video sent to Seward City News that showed the last moments of the goat before it drowned.

Since it was launched, Pokemon Go has caused much uproar in all parts of the world. It’s not surprising that many tricks and jokes regarding the game have appeared. One fan, in particular, seems to have taken things a little too far. He has dyed his puppy to look like the famous Pokemon character, Pikachu.

There was a video posted on Facebook that shows what a dog looked like after it was dyed with yellow, brown, and red dye. His owner might had thought it cute, but Elihudi Justin Urassa, the person who posted the video, was not happy with it at all. He captioned his video: “They made their dog look like Pikachu,” but was clearly upset about the happening.

The video has already gained more than 3 million views, and most people have spoken against the dog owner. They commented that what the owner did is plainly abusive and cruel. Eventually, the issue of animal rights was brought up. Even the spokesperson for PETA, Lindsay Rajt, had weighed in on the matter, saying that it’s unsafe to dye any animal’s fur, and there’s absolutely no good reason for anybody to do it. She added that it could lead to complications or an allergic reaction if water gets inside the ears of the animal during the dyeing process.

While there were those that criticized the dog owner, there were also some people that came to his defense. They commented that what the owner did was not a form of abuse because the puppy seemed happy and okay.

How about you? Do you think the dog owner violated any animal rights?

No one wants to be welcomed by an intruder when they get home from work, but what if the intruder is a cute koala?
Nikki Erickson came home from work and was surprised to find a koala in her room. What surprised her more is that the koala looked like the koala was pole dancing! Nikki took photos of the koala and commented that the adorable animal was very nice and did not seem to be bothered by being photographed. A dancer comfortable in front of the camera, this koala might just be preparing herself to become the next star!

She uploaded a video that captured how the adorable animal tried and tried to climb the pole and eventually slid back down to the floor. The video has generated more than 300, 000 views.
In her post Nikki also added “She wasn’t so impressed with my shiny, slippery chrome tree but definitely made the ladies at Daisy Hill Koala Conservation Rescue day. [sic]” She called Daisy Hill Conservation Park, an animal rescue group, to get the koala back to her proper home. The rescuers arrived and also confirmed the gender of the cute koala. The adorable animal is apparently female and the rescuers named her as “Larissa.” The animal rescue group made sure that the koala was in good condition before they sent her back to the wild.

This is not the first time that a koala was found in the houses of Australia. According to Hunter Koala Preservation Society, it’s actually becoming more prevalent because the habitat connectivity is not the same as before.

You might have heard of Kopi Luwak– the coffee that is blended from defecated coffee beans by Asian civet cat, or the current trend of enriching food flavor by adding placenta in it. If these sound disgusting to you, then you might have a hard time warming up to the idea of cockroach milk.

Cockroach milk might be the craziest thing you’ll hear this year, but it does not make it anything less than possible. It turns out the Pacific Beetle Cockroaches feed their babies with a formula that’s rich in sugar, fat, and protein. This formula then forms into protein crystals in the stomach of baby cockroaches.

Watch video here

While it’s called cockroach milk, it not exactly similar to the kind of milk we’re used to drinking. The liquid that is harvested from the cockroaches can actually be considered a complete food; it has the essential amino acids, lipids, protein, and sugar. Hence, it has 3x the energy given by buffalo milk and 4x the energy given by cow’s milk.

How in the world do you get milk from a cockroach?

The process is complicated, and it mainly involves extracting crystals from the gut of cockroach embryos. Scientists are still studying about how to make the process faster so that they can mass produce the milk.

So is cockroach milk disgusting? Definitely, yes. Is it healthy? Even more so. While they still have not found a way to mass produce it, you might want to take this time as an opportunity to fully prepare yourself for its release in the market.

Whether you are a Pokemon Go fan or not, you can’t deny that the game has made a huge impact. You may have read news about the many ridiculous things fans have done in the name of fun, but have you ever heard about how the game was used for a good cause? Well, a zookeeper did exactly that; she used Pokemon Go to make visitors pay more attention to zoo animals.

A zookeeper in Birmingham, Alabama noticed that most visitors of their zoo are preoccupied with their phones. Why? They were all trying to catch Pokemons, of course. This had been a common sight in the area because the zoo housed a lot of Pokestops. Meanwhile, the animals in the zoo were completely ignored. People had traded them for virtual pocket monsters, and they were treated like they were not even there. Saddened by the scene, the zookeeper decided to embrace the game and came up with a brilliant idea of giving the place a Pokemon make-over. She created Pokemon-inspired cards for each zoo animal under her care and posted them on her Tumblr.

These are some of the Pokemon-inspired cards she made:

Clearly, she took her job with passion and wanted the visitors to take their eyes off their phone screens and focus on the real animals around them.

Now, visitors not only come to the zoo for its Pokestops but also to see the animals and their keeper’s Pokemon-inspired cards.

Have you ever wondered whether animals could go vegan or not? What would happen if they do? You need not rack your brains any further as the case has already happened to a Weimaraner, and the findings have been clearly documented by in Imgur user.

“HELP!!! I came home to find that my dog had eaten a whole package of vegan soy sausages!” she wrote. “I don’t know if it’s gonna make her sick or not.”

When she found that her pet ate Tofurky, a vegan sausage which was not originally part of the dog’s meal plan, she was in fright. This had never happened before, and she had no idea how it would affect her dog. The owner’s fear grew worse when the dog started to do strange things. Minutes after the dog digested the vegan food, she decided to put on a hat. Later on, she became despondent. Suddenly, she tried to match the hat with converse shoes and requested for a vinyl record to be played.

But that’s not all! She grabbed a book and started reading. Then, she put it down and asked for green dragon craft ale and probiotic froyo before she engaged in barking at Capitalist pigs. The owner had to calm her down and explain she couldn’t really vote because the right to suffrage was not extended to animals yet.

There’s no doubt that this new vegan dog had turned hipster! Even so, people still love her for who she is because vegan dogs deserve all the love and acceptance they need.

Whoever says dogs can’t drive is probably right. While it’s true that these pets love a good old ride, it’s probably best that they are not left alone in a car for a long time.

Take what happened in Wayne, West Virginia. Two innocent looking pups decided to take the wheel and have a little fun on their own when their owner left them for a moment in the car with a motor still on.

You can imagine the shock a Walmart employee felt when she noticed a car, with a headless driver, coming right towards her. She was able to jump out of the way and thought that she was getting pranked by someone she knew.

When she got a closer look on the car, she was surprised to see nobody except for two puppies—one holding the steering wheel and the other rolling down the window. Both of them were comfortably sitting in the car and were acting like what they’re doing is perfectly normal.

What occurred is, of course, not normal, but it’s the Wayne County so what do you expect? It’s lucky that no human, dog, or Walmart wall was harmed that day.

Herman, a 5-month old exotic shorthair, has captured the hearts of thousands of people with his unusually huge eyes. He is a living proof that with cats, nothing can go wrong. Even genetics won’t be able to stop them from being cute.

Herman’s eyes are too big that he looks as if he’s always scared. Thus, he was given the name Scaredy Cat, after Russell Punter’s famous Children’s book.

The feline happily lives in Copenhagen, Denmark with his 26-year old owner Shirley.

Funnily enough, Herman can’t even close his eyes when he’s asleep. Shirley says that the only indication that he is sleeping is his soft snores. Other than that, you won’t be able to tell whether he’s still gazing at something or already in dreamland.

The scaredy cat’s Instagram page currently has over 10 thousand followers. It shows him playing with his toy feather, lying on the floor, posing with teddy bears, etc. —all with the same scared look.

For now, Herman must be enjoying all the attention and love people are giving him.

Usually, people pick their pets and not the other way around. However, a stray dog spotted during the 4 Deserts Gobi March in China had set her eye on a runner and was determined to win his heart. Her journey across China’s largest desert will melt your heart.

On the first day of the 6-day marathon, a stray puppy was noticed running alongside the human participants. Surprisingly, she was able to keep up with them for the whole 22-mile stretch. Dion Leonard, a Scottish extreme marathon runner, noticed her but assumed she was just lost. When the animal made another appearance on day two, he realized she was as dedicated to the cause as he.

Still, Leonard thought that the dog would soon give up because the race was too much for her little legs. But the animal proved him wrong when she stayed by his side and finished the second stretch with him. Soon enough, they were inseparable.

On day 3, they were seen running close to each other. Leonard then named his new best friend and running partner Gobi.

The weather on days 4 and 5 were too much for the dog so she had to sit them out. The organizers gave her a ride and at the end of each day, she was seen waiting for Leonard’s arrival.
Fortunately, Gobi was able to join again on the last day of the marathon, and the two friends finished together.

After the event, Leonard couldn’t bear to separate with the puppy so he planned to bring her home to Scotland. However, the process won’t be an easy one. It would involve money, medical check-ups, and months of quarantine.

All the trouble in getting a dog cleared to enter the UK were not enough to discourage Leonard, though. Determined to bring the Gobi home, he had set up a CrowdFunder page so people can donate and help cover her moving costs.

For now, Gobi is staying with Leonard’s friend in China. However, with the support from people all over the world, they might be reunited soon. Let’s hope that they do.
